What Things Cost
What do new gutters cost on a typical Augusta home?

How much is a gutter cleaning?

Why do gutter quotes vary so much between companies?
Four things usually explain the gap: hidden hangers versus spikes, .032 versus .027 aluminum, whether tear-out and haul-away are included, and whether anyone checked the fascia before quoting.
A quote that is $900 lower is not necessarily wrong — but it is worth asking which of those four it is, because all of them show up in year five rather than year one.

Cleaning and Upkeep
How often should gutters be cleaned in the Augusta area?
Twice a year is the baseline: once in late spring after pollen and oak catkins finish, and once in late fall after the pine straw and hardwood leaves come down.
Homes with loblolly pines directly overhead often need three or four visits. Pines shed year-round rather than in one clean drop, which is why an annual schedule rarely holds here.
Why do my gutters overflow when they are clean?

Guards reduce cleaning frequency rather than eliminating it. The realistic outcome in Augusta is going from three or four visits a year to one light maintenance rinse.
Should I get 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
Five-inch handles most one-story homes with moderate pitch. Six-inch with 3x4 downspouts is the better call for steep roofs, long unbroken runs, large roof planes draining to one point, or homes under heavy pine.

Scheduling and Service
How long does an installation take?
Most single-story homes are a single day — old run off in the morning, new aluminum rolled and hung by mid-afternoon, water test before the truck leaves.
Two-story homes, complex rooflines, and jobs that need fascia carpentry first can run into a second day. You will know which before we start.
Do I need to be home?
No. The work happens entirely outside, so as long as the installer can reach the full perimeter and gates are unlocked, nobody needs to come indoors.
Most homeowners like to be there for the water test at the end so they can watch each run drain and flag anything before we pack up.
Do you handle storm and fallen-limb damage?
Yes, and it is a large share of the work in the CSRA. A limb strike usually crushes the trough, tears hangers out of the fascia, and bends the drip edge above it — all three need addressing, not just the visible dent.
